Leon, The Professional (1994)

This movie features Jean Reno, Gary Oldman and a young Natalie Portman. This movie is about a young girl who befriends an assassin, under unfortunate circumstances. The relationship these two strangers build is both beautiful, and partially disturbing at some points. The two main characters are extremely interesting and captivating. On top of this interesting relationship, there is plenty of violence. Which I’m a huge fan of, to be honest. Personally I consider this a classic. If you haven’t seen it I would definitely recommend it. It is on my top 10 favorite movies list.

Drinking Buddies, 2013

Drinking Buddies is an Indie film, it revolves mostly between a friendship between Jack Johnson and Olivia Wilde. Basically they are co-workers who are both in relationships with other people. This movie was not what I was expecting at all going into it. I thought it was going to be predictable and just like every other romance movie. I was delightfully surprised to find out it wasn’t. It’s incredibly relatable and more realistic than the usual “they fall in love and it’s so beautiful and perfect and they lived happily ever after”. It does have some negative reviews, because of the lack of action but I would strongly recommend this to anyone who enjoys Indie films, it’s a treat.
